Privacy Policy

I store personal data such as name, e-mail address and phone number on any person who chooses to give this information via this website or any other means. This allows me to send out newsletters and information that might be of interest. I am very conscious of limiting the number of e-mails I send out because, as an organizing coach, the last thing I want to do is add another “to-do” to your already full plate.

I make notes on all coaching sessions and keep these in a paper file in a locked drawer. Computer files are password protected. These notes are never shared with anyone and are not taken off the premises.

I do not verbally share information with other people. Some client fees may be paid by a third party (e.g. insurance company, parents, workplace). In this case, I may give general information as to whether goals are being met but this is only at the request of the client or the payer. Any information to be shared is first discussed with the client and permission must be granted.

I may, in certain situations, share general information with another coach in an effort to better serve a client. This is for debriefing and teaching purposes only and your name or other identifying information would never be shared.

Purchasing Policy

Coaching agreements usually consist of weekly forty-five minute sessions by telephone. This schedule can be altered to suit your needs. If requested, I will be responsible for all long-distance charges within North America.

Fees are payable in advance of our coaching sessions. Fee schedules can be set up based on your needs. Discounts are offered when purchasing 15 or more sessions at one time. I accept cheques and all major credit cards (via PayPal). In the event of a cheque being returned for non-sufficient funds, a charge of $25 will be applied and all sessions will be cancelled until the account is paid in full.

Changes & Cancellations

Please call promptly at your scheduled time. If I have not received a call from you and am unable to reach you by 15 minutes past the specified time, the session will be forfeited and a refund will not be available. If you would like to reschedule or cancel a session, please give me 24 hours notice so that I may give your spot to someone else. Every effort will be made to accommodate changes when necessary.

Problems

If I ever say or do anything that upsets you or doesn’t feel right, please bring it to my attention. Honesty and trust are critical in our coaching relationship. Likewise, if I feel that I am not able to coach you effectively, or that you would be best served by services other than coaching, I will inform you of this opinion.

Referrals

My practice fills by referrals. If you are benefiting from our relationship, I would hope that you would recommend me to friends and colleagues. If you feel you are not benefiting from our relationship, I hope you would discuss this with me so we can work together to make it a more beneficial relationship for you. As well, I would be happy to refer you to another coach with whom you may be a better match.

With exercise and healthy eating I met my weight loss goal in January 2007 and lost approximately 65 lbs. I approached Lisa Sutton because I found that getting to that coveted number on the scale brought up a number of challenges I did not anticipate. Mainly I felt anxious that if I were no longer actively working at losing weight I would gain it all back and more. Although exercise became a solid part of my daily routine, managing food was still an issue. I set another goal weight in which to keep up the momentum but after 3 years of concentrated effort I was tired of “being on a diet”. I came to dread my weekly weigh-ins because not only was I not moving towards the new goal weight I had set, I was actually starting to gain weight back. My Life Coaching sessions with Lisa helped me to identify that I was operating on an “all or nothing” mindset. This was a momentous realization for me. Instead of spending each day just eating healthy my approach to food was that I was either on a diet (100%) or I wasn’t (0%). The pressure I put on myself to be 100% overshadowed the successful lifestyle changes I had made in general. With Lisa’s guidance I worked on shifting my mindset to an 85:15 ratio. Today, 85% percent of the time I eat plenty of good carbs, good fats, lean proteins and fiber. The other 15% lets me enjoy treats without feeling like I’ve fallen off the wagon. Lisa’s supportive nature, combined with humor and intelligence was instrumental to my achieving a realistic perspective. Shelley Herrick, Las Vegas, Nevada
